Held every year in February, the Chinese New Year Parade in Chicago provides the city with authentic holiday celebrations and Chinese traditions. Attendees can view the numerous elaborately decorated floats as well as an assortment of individual organizations who march through the city.
Join the Barrington Chinese Immersion Council in marching in the Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade this year! The Barrington Chinese Language program has been invited to march in the Chinese Lunar New Year Parade in Chinatown in Chicago to celebrate the Year of the Rooster! All family members are invited! As of now, you are responsible for your own transportation to Chinatown (we are working on getting a bus to transport us but that is not finalized yet, we will keep you posted!). I suggest you get there early or take the train as parking will be difficult. We will be meeting at Noon between 26th St and 24th Place on Wentworth Avenue. The parade will begin from that point at 1:00pm.
We have reserved space at Cai Fine Dining and Banquet at 2100 South Archer Avenue at 2:30. If you would like to join us for lunch there, please be sure to let us know in the comments when you R.S.V.P.
Be sure to wear your warm and cozy spirit wear so you can bundle up and show your BCIC spirit at the parade. Don’t miss this fabulous family event! It really is a sight to see!!!
