First Chinese Immersion Cohort Enters BHS in Fall 2019
A new Freshman Mandarin Immersion 1 Honors class will be offered to our first cohort of students. The World Languages department is exploring options for sophomores through seniors, including AP Chinese, Business Chinese, Advanced Chinese Language and Composition. Ideally, the district would like to find a local university partner to offer a dual credit course. Goal is for our students to graduate with a “Seal of Biliteracy,” a certification by the State of Illinois indicating proficiency in Chinese that will appear on the student’s diploma or transcript.
Summer School!
Elementary summer school courses in Chinese are offered at Rose Elementary School again this year. There will not be a Chinese course for middle school students offered this summer.
