BCIC and Greencastle of Barrington will be hosting its first Poetry and Music event on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 10 am. The event will be held at Greencastle of Barrington, 445 E Main Street in Barrington.
CI students and residents are invited to present short poems in Mandarin and English. Students are also invited to perform short pieces of music. Please sign up by Tuesday, December 5.
- Poetry readers choose short poems that they can read in Mandarin and provide translation in approximately 2 minutes or less. Poetry readers are welcome to perform original works. Recommended 4th grade and up, but all CI students who would enjoy performing for an audience of all ages are welcome. Students are also welcome to perform with a friend or family member. Please email student-volunteers@bcic220.org by Tuesday, December 5 with your name and title of the poem as you wish to have it listed in the program.
- Musical performers are asked to share a short Chinese classical or folk song (approximately 2-3 minutes long) at several intervals during the program. Small groups, please use only one spot on the signup. Please email: student-volunteers@bcic220.org by Tuesday, December 5 with your name (s), type of performance (voice or musical instrument) and song title as you wish to have it listed in the program.
