Supply Chain Manager of Ebco Inc, a leading supplier of engineered rubber products for OEMs. In this role, Ms. Brown is responsible for global vendor management, logistic operations, demand planning, and inventory optimization. Ms. Brown leads the Supply Chain team at both their headquarters and global locations. Additionally, she is part of the recruiting team, conducting interviews not only for positions within the Supply Chain team but also for other departments. Ms. Brown earned my bachelor’s degree in International Trade from Nanchang University in China and a Master of Business Administration from the Paris School of Business in France.
Currently, Ms. Brown also serves as the Communication and Family Relations Director at Xilin Northwest Chinese School, where both of her children have been attending since they were preschoolers. One of them has recently completed the Chinese Immersion program in SD54.
Mr. Patchak received his degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign and is a professionally licensed Chemical Engineer working for Veolia. Veolia is the world’s largest environmental treatment company focusing on protecting Earth’s natural resources through water reuse and recycling. His company has provided over 100 million people with clean drinking water. Mr. Patchak’s branch of Veolia is focused on the safe production of chemicals such as fertilizer, salt, and lithium products that are used in electrical vehicles. Their Evaporation and Crystallization technology is used by companies such as Tesla, Ford, Morton Salt, and Scott’s Fertilizer.
Mr. Patchak’s current role is Vice President of Quality Assurance and Contract Management. In this role he ensures his company follows the requirements of engineering codes and standards, implements a culture of continuous improvement, as well as following local government policies on their projects. He has travelled to over 30 countries across 6 continents and currently oversees a team of 25 people across 5 countries with 6 full time employees in China. Having learned Spanish as a student, he understands the value that a second language brings to your career opportunities.
Ms. Xu is a solo practitioner in the greater Chicago area. Ms. Xu practices real estate law, business law, corporate law and import/export law. Before hanging out her own shingle in 2017, she focused on international trade and customs law practice. She worked in Singapore in intellectual property law before earning her law degree from Kansas University. She received her LLB degree from a top university in China, Zhejiang University. Her legal education and working experience in the eastern world and western world brought her success in career development.
To give back to the community, Ms. Xu provides pro bono work and volunteers as legal counsel or board member in many Chinese American organizations. She currently serves as legal counsel to the Chinese American Association at Chicago, Chinese American Scientists and Engineers Association, Xilin Northwest Chinese School and Ray Chinese School. She serves on the board of United Chinese American Illinois Chapter, American Zhu Kezhen Education Foundation, North American Zhejiang University Alumni Association and others. Mr. O’Connell is Senior Manager, Distribution at United Airlines. Mr. O’Connell and his colleagues in Distribution and Asia Pacific Sales work with some of the biggest travel industry brands in China to make United’s products and services available in the fastest growing travel market in the world. Mr. O’Connell has previously held positions in Loyalty Programs, Customer Experience, eCommerce, Merchandising and Distribution. He will speak to many different career opportunities across the airline and travel industries. He recently traveled to China in October.
Mr. O’Connell has a sophomore student in the Chinese Immersion program at Barrington 220. He and his family have volunteered with BCIC since 2016.
