DESCRIPTION:The CI family has a float for the Barrington High School Homecoming Parade! Register to join us! \nUnder the Stars is the theme! \nCI Float Slogan is “Under the Same Stars: CI Unites Two Cultures”\nSign Up Here to decorate the float Sat Sept 21st\nWear your traditional Chinese clothes or BCIC spiritwear. Bring candy if you’d like to pass it out.\nGeneral event details: Arrive at the Morretti’s parking lot 9/23 at 9:30am (cannot park on site so plan accordingly). No candy can be thrown during the parade\, but you may hand out your own candy. Ride/Walk in the parade to the BHS high school. Pick up will be at BHS when we finish the parade route.\n\nMiddle or high school age students interested in volunteering click here.\n\n**Please note float riding priority is given to the young students and disabled. SUMMARY:Mid Autumn (Moon) Festival
DESCRIPTION:Please join BCIC as we celebrate the Mid Autumn (Moon) Festival with traditional games and activities\, as well as stories and songs for the younger CI students. Our Greencastle events are a wonderful way to learn more about Chinese culture and celebrations in a multi-generational learning setting. \nDo you have a high school student or 8th grader interested in volunteering and earning service credits?  BCIC is seeking students to help facilitate games and activities: https://www.bcic220.org/sheet/volunteer-for-mid-autumn-festival/ \n**Parent or caregiver must accompany the K-6 grade students\, no drop offs please. Damage to the facility has occurred in the past and we wish to maintain a good relationship with Greencastle.** \nGreencastle of Barrington is an affordable senior living community in downtown Barrington\, where many residents are from China and speak Mandarin. BCIC has partnered with Greencastle of Barrington since 2018 to offer mutually beneficial programs for CI students and families\, as well as Greencastle residents.  Our Greencastle partnership also provides volunteer opportunities for older CI students throughout the year. \nGreencastle is the large brown apartment building at 445 E Main Street in Barrington.  However\, please use the back entrance of the building off Klingenburg Ln.  Parking is available on the street or in the North Metra lot.  The parking lot is reserved for residents. \nWe will have volunteers at the back door\, as well as the right side of the building in the garden area to welcome you. \nThank you!  We hope you can join us!
