SUMMARY:4th-8th Grade CI Cultural Cuisine Event
DESCRIPTION:Join D220 teacher\, Mary Weerts\, and the Barrington Chinese Immersion Council\, as we host our 2nd cuisine event. \nMrs. Mary Weerts\, middle school CI teacher\, will be sharing cultural knowledge while our students and families can enjoy the different noodle and rice dishes from various regions. \nDate: Nov. 10th (Sunday) \nTime: 2:00-4:00PM \nLocation: Yu’s Mandarin\n200 E Golf Road\nSchaumburg\, IL 60173 \nCost: $10 per person with tip included \nMax number of people: 50 \nWe welcome your 4th through 8th grade students and respective family members to Yu’s Mandarin Restaurant in Schaumburg. During this cultural dining experience\, students will learn about Chinese table culture and enjoy mixed region cuisine. \nDo you know how many cuisine styles there are in China? What are the signature dishes? When you are with family\, friends\, or at a business dinner\, who sits where at a round table? At the end of the event\, we should find all these answers\, plus hold a conversation on how to order the food in Chinese. \nCost is $10/participant (child or adult). Every attendee is considered a participant. The menu has been preselected\, so allergy requests and modifications cannot be made. \nThis event is best suited for older children\, and a parent/guardian is required for every student in attendance. Drop off is not allowed.  Due to the venue’s space limitations\, please consider leaving younger siblings at home. BCIC understands this is a small group and not all students in the Chinese Immersion Program will be able to attend; however\, more cultural events will be happening in future. Stay tuned! \nPlease use the link below to purchase tickets. All sales final.
